Laser tattoo removal and sun exposure
It’s important to be safe in the sun at any time, but it’s especially worth checking that it’s safe to go in the sun after laser tattoo removal.
The unique laser technology we use at NAAMA is skin-safe, heals quickly and gives incredible results as these before and after pictures show, but it does rely on great after-care following treatment, including keeping sun exposure to a minimum.
Our low-energy laser significantly reduces any chance of blistering, scarring or lasting damage, which means less downtime between treatments and fast tattoo removal results.
What impact will sun exposure have on tattoo removal?
As well as soaking up vitamin D, your skin also absorbs the radiation from the sun in melanin. It’s the melanin that turns your skin a lovely golden brown and this is exactly what you want to avoid both before and after you have tattoo removal.
While the exclusive LightSense laser system we use at NAAMA is incredibly gentle, your skin still needs time to properly heal after treatment without the damaging effects of the sun. By exposing your skin to the sun’s ultraviolet rays without protection, you risk prolonging the healing time and a possible change in pigmentation.
Such a big investment in your beautiful new skin is definitely worth a few weeks of shade.
Caring for your skin after tattoo removal
Following a great aftercare regime is the best way to ensure the best possible results from your tattoo removal treatment and avoid unwanted scarring. Our expert consultants will design a bespoke aftercare plan designed specifically for you and your individual skin.
As well as avoiding the sun after tattoo removal, we recommend keeping your skin cool and calm, using specialised aftercare creams and considering lymphatic massage to help your body flush away the ink particles.
