ASH'S STORY · BACK TATTOO REMOVAL

Ash felt that her tattoos from her 20s didn’t reflect where she was in life anymore. Especially when it came to work. This is her removal story.

I’ve decided to remove my tattoos because of my job. I have a number of national clients who are very high profile and, for me, having tattoos doesn’t really fit with working in those industries. I also had my tattoos done when I was a lot younger, 10 to 12 years ago, and they don’t really resonate with me anymore. That’s part of the issue too.

I’m having a tattoo on my shoulder removed. I got it when I was in Russia, but I wanted something different. I didn't really think it all through. Even though my tattoos are in places you normally wouldn’t really see, like my shoulder, looking at them now in my 30s made me feel a little bit uncomfortable. That stage in my life is done.

How did you find NAAMA?

I was referred to NAAMA through a friend. I heard that NAAMA’s tattoo clearing process is kinder to the skin than other places thanks to its laser technology. That caught my interest.

The staff are very friendly, helpful and kind. When you walk in the door, you can feel a sense of positivity in the studio, which is nice. Everyone remembers your name, from reception to the consultants who are with you in the treatment. Going into a place for a treatment like this and having that comfort and those relationships takes it beyond the procedure. It's quite an amazing experience, and everyone's very supportive.

Tell us a bit about your removal journey.

When I started my removal journey, I was coming in every couple of weeks. My tattoo disappeared quite well I think in comparison to the vibrant colours that were there to begin with. It’s practically gone. I'm hoping that I can continue that progress with some of my other tattoo removals as well.

Seeing the results is very satisfying. While it’s been a process, at the same time it’s been well worth it and it feels great to be at the end of this journey. It’s been something that I wanted to do for a while.

What advice would you give to anyone on the fence about removal?

I would say to think it through and ask yourself, “can you be patient?” Because that's one thing, it does take a bit of time. If you feel ready, go for it - it’s well worth it.
