The backstory
In the early 2000s, a group of eminent physicists at Princeton University teamed up with a team of pioneering dermatologists to develop a new and innovative laser system using ultra-fast pulse speeds. Over the last decade, we’ve been dedicated to bringing this remarkable technology to market - exclusively at NAAMA.
Getting a tattoo
Ink pigments are inserted into the skin. The immune system attempts to remove them but fails due to their large size and the tattoo becomes established.
Removing a tattoo
Lasers (powerful beams of light) break down the ink pigments in the dermis, allowing the immune system to process them out of the body.
Other laser systems
Older technologies involve high levels of energy, which when absorbed by the ink, heats up and expands. This can blister and burn the surrounding skin. Eventually, the expansion breaks the ink pigments apart but not without the risk of long-term scarring or discolouration.
NAAMA takes a different approach
The LightSense laser system transfers light at an exceptional speed, and uses ultra-low levels of energy to break down ink pigments. That means less pain, no risk of skin damage and the ability to have more frequent treatments. How is NAAMA’s technology different from other laser tattoo removal devices?
We use Lightsense Laser Systems which uses much less energy to break down tattoo ink. This ultra-low energy treatment preserves healthy skin, allowing for more regular treatment. In some cases, removal sessions can be conducted as frequently as every week - a big improvement from the ~8 weeks often required when undergoing high-energy tattoo removal treatment.

Does it hurt?
Pain really varies from person to person - what one person finds mildly unpleasant, another will find unbearably painful. Our laser is much more gentle on the skin than older technologies meaning that many of our customers say that it is less painful, and hurts less than getting a tattoo. Our unique technology used less energy, meaning less pain.
Is there risk of scarring?
To date, we've conducted more than 1,000 treatments without a single case of scarring.
