My name is Jack and I work in a few different industries. I have a coaching business that helps people level up in their lives and I teach spin six or seven times a week.

I’m one of those people that travelled around the world and randomly got tattoos done in different places. There’s a few that I got that are just awful. One that I decided to get removed was one from when I was 15 or 16. I thought it would be really cool to get a star on my hip. At the time it was what everyone was getting, so I instantly got it. I thought the star was cool for about three years, then came to regret it ever since. When the chance came about to get it removed, I thought "yes - let’s get rid of this thing."

You started your removal journey elsewhere before coming to NAAMA, how was it? Why did you stop?

I had one session of traditional tattoo removal and it was so painful that I never went back. I had heard stories of it being sore, but it was ten times worse than that. I was a little bit disappointed because I didn’t know what my options going forward would be.

NAAMA came up as an ad on Instagram when I was travelling. I remember saving the ad knowing I would look up NAAMA when I got back to London. When I got back, I looked the studio up and was a bit apprehensive how you could remove a tattoo without it hurting. But I realised after one or two sessions that it doesn’t hurt at all and I can come back more often.

You mentioned you tried to remove your star tattoo, but it was so painful you had stopped. What did the treatments at NAAMA feel like in comparison?

Traditional laser tattoo removal is like someone taking a hot poker and stabbing you multiple times around the area until you can’t take it anymore; leaving you blistered and sore for weeks. I don’t even know how the skin repairs from it, it’s so bad. With NAAMA, it’s like little, short, sharp bursts of light that sting a little bit at first and then it’s done in minutes. There isn’t any blistering, raised skin or pigmentation issues. It’s just a bit raw for a day or two. You use the aftercare creams, then you go back to your normal life and come in two to three weeks later for another session. Over time, the ink breaks down and breaks down. It’s amazing how at first you see it going, then after a while it’s gone - almost like magic.

How did you find your treatments at NAAMA fit into your active lifestyle?

It’s not been a hassle in the slightest. If anything, the treatments fit into my lifestyle perfectly. I would plan when I was training and having a session, but it would be max two days before I could train again. The consultant told me if you do more exercise, it helps the removal process by getting the blood flowing.
