How do you remove a tattoo in London?

This is how you remove a tattoo in London in four simple steps. Illustrated using stills from a bespoke animation NAAMA commissioned to better explain the process behind tattoo removal.

For cutting-edge laser tattoo removal read on for how the LightSense™ laser system removes tattoos in a skin-kind way.

A tattoo artist skillfully deposits ink into the dermis, the skin’s middle layer. The immune system responds to the ink as if a foreign body, swiftly attempting to clear it.

Specialised immune cells - macrophages - consume the large ink particles and they become lodged in the dermis. The tattoo is fixed in place.
