Knowing how to care for your skin between sessions is as important as understanding the laser process.

Laser tattoo removal is a holistic journey that goes way beyond the treatment room. Knowing how to care for your skin between sessions is as important as understanding the laser process. Whether you’re looking to fade for a cover-up or want to remove a tattoo completely, diligent aftercare is key to getting the most out of your treatment plan. After laser tattoo removal, over-the-counter barrier and emollient creams are typically recommended to hydrate and protect the treated area. Whilst those products are adequate, the NAAMA team felt that more could be done to support your skin. That’s why we have created two pioneering skincare products that do precisely that. Read on to discover the essential ingredients that keep your skin looking and feeling healthy, and how to use the product range to full effect.

“After each removal session, your immune system is responsible for flushing the ink pigment out of your body, so a well-functioning immune system will fade ink faster.”

How can I speed up tattoo removal?

The three main factors that dictate how fast your ink will fade is the laser, your tattoo and your general health. At NAAMA, we treat your skin with the world’s most advanced laser system. Our ultra-low energy, ultra-fast technology breaks ink pigments down quickly without transferring excess energy to the surrounding areas, which is why there’s no downtime between sessions. Secondly, the composition of the ink used dictates the speed of your laser tattoo removal journey - the colour, quality, density and depth are factors, as well as location on the body. Whilst these characteristics may be beyond your control, your health is not. After each removal session, your immune system is responsible for flushing the ink pigment out of your body, so a well-functioning immune system will fade ink faster. Getting enough sleep, exercising regularly, drinking plenty of water and eating a balanced diet all make a difference, as does looking after your skin. It’s the body’s largest organ and plays a vital role in maintaining your health.

These products nourish your skin throughout the laser removal process. They contain all-natural vegan ingredients that are easily absorbed by the skin.

What cream can I use after tattoo removal?

Developed in collaboration with Swiss Mountain Organics, NAAMA’s skincare range has been formulated to enhance the removal process by improving skin health. The products nourish your skin throughout the laser removal process, using all-natural vegan ingredients that are easily absorbed by the skin.

“The ingredients are organic and derived from plants and, thus, provide a high level of bioavailability,” explains Urs Polhman, a practicing physician and founder of Swiss Mountain Organics.“ There are indications that non-organic compounds have more difficulties getting absorbed into the cell or intercellular tissue. High bioavailability means that the compound will support regeneration better than most synthetic compounds.”

NAAMA Aftercare Cream includes innovative ingredients that enhance the clearance of tattoo ink post treatment. “You will have an activation of your blood flow coming from Alpha Glucosyl Hesperidin, our key ingredient, which stimulates the degradation of ink particles,” explains chemist and formulation scientist Luciano Mastrobuoni at Swiss Mountain Organics.

Aftercare Cream also alleviates the skin’s inflammation response. To reduce redness and ease itchiness, the cream contains a calming synergistic blend of blackcurrant seed oil and balloon vine extract (a medicinal climbing plant), with the addition of naturally-occurring organic acids that offer an antimicrobial effect, reducing the risk of infection.

How to use NAAMA’s skincare products

After laser tattoo removal, your consultant will wrap the treatment area in a protective dressing, which should stay on for up to 72 hours. Once the dressing has been removed, NAAMA’s skincare products can be introduced. The Aftercare Cream should be applied twice daily for at least one week post-treatment. Outside of tattoo removal, it's protective qualities also make it ideal for use in cold and windy weather conditions.

Once the skin is healed, the Regeneration Cream can be applied each morning and night until your next laser session. Thanks to its regenerative active ingredients, the cream is also an ideal anti-ageing product.
