INDIA’S STORY · ARM TATTOO REMOVAL

London-based TV producer, India, talks about her laser tattoo removal journey with NAAMA. Here is her story.

My name is India and I’m a 28-year-old TV producer living in London. I have 10 tattoos. The tattoo I’m having removed is a pair of crying eyes on my inner upper arm. I got it when I was 22 and it was definitely a rushed decision! I didn’t like its placement and felt it was much too big.

I really love tattoos and felt like it was preventing me from getting more. It made me feel very self-conscious about my arms, I was always covering them up! My best friend asked me to be Maid of Honour at her wedding and I immediately knew I didn’t want it in the pictures, so I took the leap to have it removed. I’d been thinking about it for a long time but always put it off.

How has your removal been so far?

The tattoo removal experience at NAAMA has been really positive. The treatments are fast, and although slightly painful, it is over quickly and you’re made to feel very relaxed. I wanted to have the removal somewhere I trusted and felt comfortable.

Everyone at NAAMA is warm and friendly, and it feels more like a nice cosmetic treatment in terms of atmosphere rather than an intimidating one.

India's progress

At the start of treatment

Large ink particles begin to break down in the skin.

In progress

Ink particles begin to break down even further and tattoo starts to fade.

Certain parts are denser

Some areas are more stubborn due to the technique used by a tattoo artist. Ink in places is denser and therefore takes longer to break down.

As the removal continues

The tattoo loses its form even further, lighter blacks disappear.
